This is a Kudus' specialty. It looks and tastes a bit like lontong sayur. I used to eat this almost every Sunday when I was in school. At least 3 servings; surely it replenished the energy to bike to Tanjung area at 5 AM :-)

Dear: Temans dan Rekans,

Dengan bertambahnya murid baru dan jam kegiatan belajar mengajar untuk
kelas 7 adalah di pagi hari: 07.00 - 12.00 serta sebagian besar tenaga
pengajar kelas 8 kami tidak dapat mengajar di pagi hari, maka kami
sangat membutuhkan tenaga-tenaga relawan baru untuk mengajar di kelas
7.

Adapun relawan yang kami butuhkan adalah untuk mengajar mata pelajaran
sebagai berikut:

Bahasa Indonesia
IPS (sejarah, geografi dan ekonomi)
Biologi
Fisika
Gambar
Olahraga

Adapun syarat untuk menjadi relawan di sekolah kami adalah:

Bukan perokok/peminum
Bersedia mengajar tanpa bayaran (tidak ada honor/uang transport)
Bersedia mengajar 2 x 40 menit, seminggu sekali di hari kerja (Senin -
Jumat) antara jam 07.00 s/d 12.00
Khusus untuk guru olahraga, mengajar di hari Senin jam 10.00 s/d 14.00

Segala kebutuhan untuk Mengajar seperti alat tulis, buku tulis dan
buku teks untuk panduan guru disediakan oleh sekolah.

SMP Gratis Ibu Pertiwi berdiri sejak tahun lalu. Sekolah kami
menginduk ke sebuah SMP negri yaitu SMPN 67 di Manggarai, Jakarta
Selatan. Pendirian sekolah kami tidak didanai oleh pemerintah, partai
atau LSM manapun. Selama ini biaya operasional kami dapatkan dari
orang-orang yang peduli dengan kegiatan kami.

Peserta didik kami adalah lulusan SD yang tidak diterima di SMP negri
dan tidak mampu untuk masuk ke SMP swasta yang termurah sekalipun.
Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar (KBM) kami adalah di teras depan rumah.
Tahun ajaran lalu, karena kami baru punya 1 kelas yaitu kelas 7, KBM
berlangsung hanya di siang hari dari jam 13.00 s/d 17.00.

Untuk tahun ajaran baru ini (2008 - 2009) kami sudah mempunyai 2 kelas
yaitu kelas 7 dan kelas 8. Dan berhubung kami tidak mempunyai tempat
lain selain teras rumah, maka KBM kelas 7 berlangsung dari jam 07.00 -
12.00 dan kelas 8 dari jam 13.00 - 17.30, di tempat yang sama.

Besar harapan kami ada temans dan rekans yang tertarik bergabung
bersama kami demi pendidikan dasar anak-anak Indonesia yang
termarjinalkan. Atau mungkin temans dan rekans bersedia mencarikan
tenaga relawan untuk sekolah kami. Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar akan
dimulai awal Agustus 2008. Saat ini siswa-siswa baru sedang melakukan
masa perkenalan dengan lingkungan sekolah, kakak-kakak kelas dan
beberapa guru.

My favorite movie of all time is Cyrano de Bergerac. Gerard Depardieu at his best. The way Cyrano expresses his love for Roxanne is moving and poetic. The face is Christian, the soul is Cyrano.

I was so amazed when I went to a pet-food shop in Kelapa Gading area to look for my dog's snack. There's a sign at the door saying "Dogs not for sale". Inside I saw many Pekingese lying down comfortably. Some sleeping on the floor; some sitting near the owner at the cashier. There's one vegging out on the cashier's desk commanding the store. Dogs rule indeed.

Curious, I asked the owner how many dogs she had. Forty one, she said. Wow.

The first dish is lontong sayur. The second is chicken something - I forgot - need to go there again to check :-) . Live music at 3 different decks: jazz, Javanese Gamelan, and pop. Cool place to hang out.
