Turu is a Javanese word for "to sleep". Other equivalent (and more polite) words for sleeping are "sare" and "tilem". Gendut was sleeping when I took this picture. My dog's name "Gendut" means "chubby" in Javanese. He only answers to "Ndut" and won't answer to his real name.
